Adenia globosa is a member of the Passifloraceae family. It is native to tropical Africa and is called mpaga in Swahili. This plant is also commonly known as climbing caudex geophyte for its globular caudex and climbing vines. The unique characteristic of this plant is its vicious thorns that grow up to 8 cm long.
